The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market, has announced the Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation as a beneficiary of the organization's VIP Masquerade Ball, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31, in Raleigh. As part of the event, artists and twin brothers Orlando and Eduardo Javier Garcia of Havana, Cuba, will have their donated work showcased.

Eduardo and Orlando gained recognition in the US after Deborrah J. Gruder, executive director of the Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation, spoke with them about the foundation and its efforts to send at-risk youth to summer camps. Upon learning of the mission, the brothers generously donated a 14-piece signed collection of their work, called "VIDA," to help U.S. children via the foundation.

During the World of Art Showcase, which is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, through Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Raleigh Convention Center downtown, Eduardo and Orlando will speak about their photography, their creative process, and the origin of the series they generously gifted to the Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation. They also will get a chance to mingle with artists from around the world.

Quotes:

"My brother and I have always made an effort to use our talent to benefit children who could use the support of a friend," said Orlando Garcia Garcia.

About World of Art Showcase:
The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), sponsored by Jerry's Artarama, is an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market. The inception of WOAS arose from a desire to redefine the role art plays in our society - to get back to the grassroots of what art stands for and to revolutionize the way the art market functions. Aligning its vision with that of the Raleigh Arts Commission in transforming the City of Oaks into the Creative Capital of the South, WOAS will host its inaugural event at the Raleigh Convention Center the first weekend in November. Audience members will have an opportunity to attend receptions, artist lectures, panel discussions, live art demonstrations and more. About Jerry's Artarama:
Jerry's Artarama was founded in 1968 when Jerry Goldstein opened his own art supplies and materials store in Long Island, N.Y., introducing discount pricing to budding and established artists. Jerry believed in treating customers like family, a tradition that still continues. Today, Jerry's offers more than 70,000 top-quality art materials at direct savings - as much as 75 percent off traditional retail on products from the industry's top art manufacturers, as well as Jerry's own exclusive product lines via an online retail store, art supply catalog, and Jerry's Artarama Superstores. In addition, Jerry's Artarama serves as an artist resource by providing instructional workshops; new art supply demos; and special art-related events, including the Art of the Carolinas Tradeshow, an annual event held in Raleigh, N.C., Jerry's Artarama's corporate headquarters.
