CRYSTAl Fox is an actress of more than 30 years. Television audiences may know her work from the long running series In The Heat of the Night starring the beloved Carol O'Connor & her most recent gift of work, starring as HAnna Young in Tyler Perry's The Haves & The Have Nots for OWN.
She got her first film break in the Oscar winning Driving Miss Daisy and went on to land several other supporting roles in various made for TV films like Once Upon A Time When We Were Colored, Separate But Equal starring THE Sidney Poitier, Mama Flora's Family with Ms. Cicely Tyson & The Old Settler with Debbie Allen & Phylicia Rashad.
Her many Stage credits include Everybody's Ruby at the New York Shakespeare Festival, Antony and Cleopatra and The Comedy of Errors, and A Raisin in the Sun, at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and many, many, more.
Playwright, JOE GILFORD's "FINKS", was nominated for Two Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Play & Outstanding Leading Actress (Miriam Silverman); and for the OFF-BROADWAY Alliance's Best New Play Award. It was also recorded for Lincoln Center's Performing Arts Library Video Collection.
"FINKS", the award-nominated play about the blacklist struggles of his parents, Jack Gilford and Madeline Gilford that received much acclaim last season at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in NYC, will debut as both a public radio and streaming podcast hosted by onetime blacklisted actor Lee Grant and in print from Dramatists Play Service Thursday, December 12, at 6:00pm at The Drama Bookshop, 250 West 40th Street.
