The musical Cry-Baby will close following the performance this Sunday, June 22 at Broadway's Marquis Theatre.  It will have played 45 previews and 68 performances.

Cry-Baby, which received its world premiere at California's La Jolla Playhouse on November 18, 2007, will begin a national tour in fall 2009.

Based upon the Universal Pictures film written and directed by John Waters, Cry-Baby is directed by Mark Brokaw; choreographed by Rob Ashford; has songs by David Javerbaum and Adam Schlesinger; and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.

The musical received four 2008 Tony Award nominations, including one for best musical.

Rob Ashford received three of the year's awards for best choreography—the Drama Desk, Outer Critics' Circle, and Astaire awards.  Additionally, Spencer Liff, one of Cry-Baby's lead dancers, received the Astaire Award for Best Male Dancer.

Alli Mauzey, who plays the crazed and deluded Lenora and who sings one of the show's highlights, "Screw Loose," received a Theatre World Award for one of the season's outstanding debuts.

Cry-Baby plays the Marquis Theatre, 1535 Broadway.  Tickets may be purchased by visiting Ticketmaster.com or phoning 212 307-4100.  For information about Cry-Baby, visit www.crybabyonbroadway.com and www.myspace.com/crybabyonbroadway.
