Join CrossFit Ganbatte and "Barbells for Boobs" for a day of fitness, music, food and fun for the whole family on Saturday, June 14, 2014 starting at 10 a.m. at CrossFit Ganbatte, 3235 San Fernando Road Unit 4 in Los Angeles. CrossFit Ganbatte will host their 2nd Annual "Barbells for Boobs" Fundraiser to support breast cancer detection services for a client in the Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital in the greater Los Angeles area. Crossfit Ganbatte became involved with the Barbells for Boobs event upon the urging of their friend and yoga instructor Erika Rae Theobold-Grant, who tragically lost her life in a recent car accident. The Crossfit Ganbatte family wants to honor her legacy by continuing to support this outstanding cause.
Zionna Hanson founded Barbells for Boobs in 2009 after her best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26. Since that time, Barbells for Boobs has grown exponentially and now involves more than 45,000 participants across 1300 affiliates in 23 countries.
CrossFit Ganbatte {gan-ba-teh} was created by life-long athlete JP Amistoso. Ganbatte is a Japanese word that means "Do Your Best." The philosophy of "Do Your Best" was created by JP Amistoso as a way to combat casual athletes feeling intimidated by the seemingly intense culture of CrossFit. The CrossFit Ganbatte environment created by JP Amistoso is filled with positive energy that encourages athletes to achieve their personal best in a welcoming environment.
CrossFit Ganbatte also offers a children's program with Ganbatte Kids. Ganbatte Kids includes a fun and engaging, strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for children to develop a lifelong love of fitness in a group setting. Through CrossFit Ganbatte, JP Amistoso is developing a strong community of confident and healthy individuals of all ages and levels of athleticism.
