Cristela Alonzo is a stand-up comedian originally from the border town of San Juan in south Texas. Cristela has appeared on Conan, Comedy Central's Live at Gotham and Gabriel Iglesias' Presents Stand Up Revolution. She was also a featured comedian on Showtime Network's Legally Brown. She just recently made her acting debut appearing on FX's Sons of Anarchy. Cristela is one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the college market, having performed at almost 300 colleges in the past three years.
Aside from stand-up, Cristela has written for Comedy Central and MSNBC.COM, won awards for a musical she wrote entitled TGIF: The Musical and had one of her sketches named Latina.com's "Five Funniest Sketches Of The Decade." This year Cristela was named "One of The 50 Comedians You Should and WILL Know" by New York Magazine's Vulture.com and was invited to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Most recently, Cristela taped The Half Hour, her first half hour special in Boston, which premiered on Comedy Central.
