Gavin Creel, William Swenson, Phillip Chaffin and Aaron Lazar will lend their voices to the new Sam Davis CD, 'Love on a Summer Afternoon.'  The album is due to be released on November 2.

PS Classics celebrates the composer, arranger and pianist with this definitive collection of his work. Creel, Sweson, Chaffin and Lazar will join a list of vocalists that includes such Broadway stars as Michael Arden ('Big River]), Tituss Burgess ('Guys and Dolls'), Danny Burstein ('South Pacific'), Kevin Chamberlin ('The Addams Family'), Will Chase ('High Fidelity'), Jason Danieley ('Next to Normal'), Malcolm Gets ('The Story of My Life'), Edward Hibbert ('Curtains'), David Hyde Pierce ('Curtains'), Christopher Sieber ('Shrek') and Bobby Steggert ('110 in the Shade').

The PS Classics website says, "We first worked with conductor Sam Davis a decade ago, when he joined us for some concerts celebrating Philip's first CD. But we really only began to focus on his gifts as a composer in the last few years: first when he co-authored two of the tracks on Georgia Stitt's THIS ORDINARY THURSDAY, then when he supplied the title track to Rebecca Luker's GREENWICH TIME. We asked Sam if he'd send along some other songs he'd written, and by the time we were on the third tune, we knew we had the makings of a beautiful album. Sam composes in many styles, but in particular, there's a romantic yet rueful quality to much of his work that especially attracted us. The other thing that struck us is how many of his songs were written to be sung by men. With the prevailing wisdom that musical theatre is a "diva's" medium, we thought it would be fun to do an album with all men: 15 or 17 great male Broadway singers."

The disc will include songs such as "If I Could," "Greenwich Time," "Love Is a Chance You Take," "Old Blue Sweater," and "Invested in You."
