Create Your Own Puppet and Win a Chance for a One Night Stand on Avenue Q

A new contest asks, "What if there was a one night vacancy on Avenue Q? Does your puppet have what it takes to join the famous cast of characters?" Fans of the Tony Award-winning hit will be able to submit a photo of their own puppet creation in the Win a One Night Stand on Avenue Q Sweepstakes.

The winner of the contest will win a trip to New York and tickets to see Avenue Q on Broadway, with airfare, a two night stay at the Times Square Renaissance Hotel and dinner at a famous Times Square Restaurant included. The winner will also be given a pass to take his or her puppet backstage and meet the cast of Avenue Q.

To enter, create your own puppet and take a photo of it. (.jpg or .gif and at least 400 pixels wide or tall). Submit your puppet's photo as an email attachment along with a puppet profile, where your puppet answers the following questions:

To enter, send an email with your puppet profile and photo attachment to onenightstand@avenueq.com. The top 10 puppet pictures and their profiles will be posted on the website and the "Qmmunity will vote to determine the winner," according to press notes.

All entries must be received by 11/30/05. Incomplete entries will be voided. Beginning 12/01/05, Avenueq.com visitors will be able to vote on their favorite puppet; voting ends 1/15/06 and the winner will be announced 2/1/06. The winner and a guest will be flown to NY to see Avenue Q and meet the cast in March, 2006.

Avenue Q, which opened on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre on July 31st 2003 and won Tony Awards for Best Book (by Jeff Whitty) and Best Score (by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx), currently stars Barrett Foa, Christian Anderson and original stars Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Ann Harada, Jordan Gelber, Natalie Venetia Belcon and Jennifer Barnhart. John Tartaglia, who originated the roles of Princeton and Rod on Broadway, now headlines a Las Vegas production.
