Covedale Center for the Performing Arts will hold Auditions for SHOUT! THE MOD MUSICAL And ANNIE GET YOUR GUN

Monday, November 8, 2010, 6:30 - 9:30 pm

All auditions will be held at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.

For Shout! The Mod Musical :

Requirements for Shout Auditionees: Adult Females (17 + years of age): MUST HAVE A PERFORMANCE RESUME to audition and must be able to provide a resume listing theatrical experience. Performers will be asked to sing, read from script and dance.

Characters include: roles for five female performers: Blue Girl, Yellow Girl, Orange Girl, Green Girl and Red Girl

For Annie Get Your Gun :

Adults (17 + years of age): MUST HAVE A PERFORMANCE RESUME to audition and must be able to provide a resume listing theatrical experience.

Children: 1 Boy, Little Jake (8-10 yrs old), 3 Girls: Nellie, Jessie and Minnie (8 -13 years). Must be able to read well for their age. Children older than the ages of the characters listed below who can "play younger" are preferred. MUST HAVE A PERFORMANCE RESUME to audition and must be able to provide a resume listing theatrical experience.

Requirements for Annie Get Your Gun Auditionees: Be prepared to perform a monologue and also sing 16 bars of a song that best represents his/her voice. Auditionees may be asked to do a dance audition as well.

Characters include:
Annie Oakley-a sharpshooter in the Wild West show
Frank Butler-the Wild West show's star
Foster Wilson-hotel owner
Chief Sitting Bull-Sioux warrior; Annie's protector, but used by Pawnee Bill's competing show
Charlie Davenport-manager of the Wild West show
Col. William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill)-owner of the Wild West show
Dolly Tate-Frank's assistant; Winnie's mother (sister in the 1999 revival)
Pawnee Bill-owner of a competing western show
Little Jake (Annie little Brother age 8 - 10 years)
Nellie and Jessie (Annie's little Sisters, ages 8 - 13)
Winnie Tate, Dolly's sister (17-22 years of age)
Ensemble dancers and singers to play all other roles
Chief Sitting Bull
Tom Keeler
And other Ensemble roles including: Cowboys, Indians, Young Men and Ladies, Kings and Queens of Europe, Socialites, Debutantes, et al.

Please note: Performers do not have to be the character ages as listed, but must be able to play those ages. All roles are paid positions. If you are auditioning for both productions, please provide headshots and resumes for both shows.

The Show: Music and Lyrics by Irving Berlin; Original Book by Herbert Fields, Dorothy Fields; As Revised by Peter Stone
Annie Oakley is the best shot around, and she supports her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she's discovered by Buffalo Bill Cody, he persuades the girl sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. It only takes one glance for her to fall for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show. She soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction which is good for business, but bad for romance. Ultimately, a final shoot-out determines course of fame and true love! The musical showcases some of Irving Berlin's greatest tunes - "There's No Business Like Show Business", "I Got the Sun in the Morning (and the Moon at Night)", "Anything You Can Do", "They Say It's Wonderful", "The Girl That I Marry" and many more.
