Could Signature Theatre's ROAD SHOW Move from DC to Broadway?

D.C.'s Signature Theatre is currently presenting Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Road Show directed by Gary Griffin (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, Signature's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), and according to the Washington Post, the creative team hopes it could have a future on Broadway.

Signature Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer said of a recent conversation with Sondheim: "He said, 'Nothing would make me happier than to see that production live on,.'"

Griffin told WP: "I absolutely think this show could be done fuller-scale in a Broadway house. It's just that, right now, this is the scale that people are ready to say yes to."

The musical, about the real-life Mizner brothers and their quest for the ever elusive American dream, will run from February 16 - March 13 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre.

From the Klondike gold rush to India, Hawaii, Guatemala, New York and finally the real-estate boon of Florida's Boca Raton, the dazzling pace scours not only the map, but also forty years of boom-and-bust and brotherly love (or hate).
