Award winning indie darling 'The Little Tin Man' opens theatrically in New York City tonight, October 3, 2014 at the Williamsburg Cinemas. Set for a day-and-date release, the film will be simultaneously launching nation-wide on multiple Video On Demand platforms including iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, PlayStation Network, RedBox, Vudu, Xbox, YouTube, Bright House, Cox, Comcast Xfinity, Charter On Demand, Time Warner Cable, Verizon Fios, AT&T U-verse, Mediacom, Insight, RCN, Optimum, Dish Network, Armstrong, Rogers, Shaw, Cogeco, Telus and EastLink TV.

Corey Cott, star of Broadway's 'Newsies,' will moderate a Q&A immediately following the 10pm screenings at the Williamsburg Cinemas on October 3rd and 4th with Actor Aaron Beelner, Writer/Director Matthew Perkins and special guests.

Funded through Kickstarter, the film is written and produced by Matthew Perkins & Dugan Bridges and marks Perkins' directorial debut. The story follows the plight of Herman, a struggling dwarf actor (newcomer Aaron Beelner) who is tired of being typecast and overlooked for bigger roles. He sets out to be cast as the Tin Man in Martin Scorsese's remake of 'The Wizard of Oz.' The film also features the lead acting debut of Kay Cannon (Writer of 'Pitch Perfect,' 'Pitch Perfect 2,' 'New Girl,' '30 Rock') as Miller, Herman's average-sized best friend. Jeff Hiller ('30 Rock,' 'Ghost Town'), Chris Henry Coffey ('Trust,' 'The Good Wife'), Michael McGlone ('The Brothers McMullen,' 'Person of Interest') also star alongside many hilarious favorites from the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Broadway.

'The Little Tin Man' has been well received on the film festival circuit, earning awards such as the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Napa Valley Film Festival and the Indie Spirit Award at the Naples International Film Festival.

"We felt his story was the perfect metaphor for anyone who has ever felt overlooked; or told that they couldn't achieve something because of who they are," said Writer/Director Matthew Perkins. "Feeling like an underdog is universal. The Little Tin Man allows audiences to walk in someone else's shoes and be inspired by the journey."
