As part of its ongoing 50th anniversary celebration, the Guggenheim solicited proposals from more than 200 artists, architects and designers for site-specific art projects to be placed in the museum's famous rotunda. Rather than realize any one of the proposals, the museum decided to exhibit the proposals as art pieces themselves. Ranging from the far-out to the elegant, the exhibition includes proposals from Anish Kapoor, Wangechi Mutu, Rachel Whiteread and more.
