BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the most critically acclaimed new musical on Broadway this season, will conclude its run on Sunday, January 2nd, 2011. It will have played 120 performances.

Written and directed by Drama Desk and Obie Award winner ALEX TIMBERS with music and lyrics by Obie Award winner MICHAEL FRIEDMAN, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON stars BENJAMIN WALKER in a critically acclaimed title performance.

"We couldn't be prouder of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman, and the entire cast, band and design team of this extraordinary show. This wild ground-breaking musical grew up at the Public Theater and came to Broadway without compromising one bit of its originality or integrity. These fierce young artists will be shaping the American Theater for years to come. On behalf of all the producers, I want to congratulate them," said Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis.

Co-producers Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel added: "We are so proud to have been part of this extraordinary production. The good news is that we believe ‘BLOODY' will be done throughout the country in the years ahead. There is considerable interest already from resident theatres and also from London."

Time Out called the show "The Best Musical of the Season!" and "Insanely Funny!" and Entertainment Weekly gave it a "Grade A!" saying "If you haven't seen it yet. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Shows this weird and wonderful don't make it to Broadway every day."

The New York Times said: "There's not a show in town that more astutely reflects the state of the nation than THE ROWDY CARNIVAL BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON. Hot and cool in one breath, this INVIGORATING production feels UNCONDITIONALLY OF THE MOMENT. BEN WALKER has a star's gift and THE CHARISMA TO RULE ANY STAGE, UPTOWN OR DOWN. This DEVASTATINGLY INSIGHTFUL show is likely to remain a true reflection of these United States for many years to come."

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON also stars KRISTINE NIELSEN, JAMES BARRY, DARREN GOLDSTEIN, GREG HILDRETH, JEFF HILLER, LUCAS NEAR-VERBRUGGHE, CAMERON OCASIO, BRYCE PINKHAM, NADIA QUINN, MARIA ELENA RAMIREZ, KATE CULLEN ROBERTS, BEN STEINFELD, and EMILY YOUNG.

The design team features scenic design by Hewes Award winner Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Bart Fasbender, and choreography by Danny Mefford.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is produced by The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D.
