Concert for the Crown, with Shindle, Etc., Held May 21

Several Broadway performers are scheduled to appear in "Concert for the Crown," a scholarship fundraiser for the Miss New York Organization and Miss America's national charity, The Children's Miracle Network.  The concert, directed by Jen Bender (The Lion King, Avenue Q) and featuring musical direction by Matt Castle, will take place Monday, May 21st, 2007 at Joe's Pub at 7 p.m.

Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde, Cabaret) who was selected as 1998's Miss America 1998, will be joined by 1981's Miss America Susan Powell (NYCO's Sweeney Todd, Home Matters) at Concert for the Crown. Other scheduled performers connected to both the Broadway and Miss America worlds include Tiffany Haas (Wicked, Miss Ohio 2002), Whitney Kirk (Theatreworks' Henry and Mudge, Miss Arkansas 2003) Christina Ellington Pares (Miss New York 2004), Bethlene Pancoast (Miss New York 2006) and Nikki Snelson (Legally Blonde), with others to be announced.

Several of Broadway's finest male performers will also be performing that evening, including Rob Evan (Tarzan, Jekyll & Hyde), Matt Castle (Company), Darryl Winslow (Evil Dead: The Musical), and funny Kilty Reidy (The Drowsy Chaperone).

Joe's Pub At the Public Theater, is on 425 Lafayette Street, and "Concert for the Crown" runs Monday, May 21, at 7 PM. Doors open at 6PM, and a full dinner menu is available. Tickets are $60, with a $12 food/drink minimum, and are available by visiting www.joespub.com or by calling 212-967-7555.  People are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance as this event sells out annually. For dinner reservations, call 212-539-8778. Concertgoers who wish to eat at Joe's Pub can make dinner reservations only after purchasing their tickets.  This is a two-step process.  Dinner seating begins at 6:00PM.
