On Monday, August 28th, composer Jenny Giering will appear at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St.). She will celebrate the release of her solo CD "Look for Me" at 7 PM.
"Though best-known for her work on such musicals as The Mistress Cycle and Caraboo, Jenny is an accomplished singer-songwriter in her own right, whose songs have been recorded and performed by such well-known artists as Rebecca Luker, Judy Blazer, and Audra McDonald. Jenny will be joined at Joe's Pub by the rock group GrooveLily and a host of other musicians from the Broadway world," state Joe's Pub notes.
The Mistress Cycle, written with Beth Blatt, was a hit at last year's NYMF festival. Caraboo, Princess of Javasu, written with Blatt and Marsha Norman, was seen at NAMT last year (and also received a reading at Goodspeed this May).
