More casting has been announced for Romance, the courtroom satire that will be performed as part of the David Mamet Festival at Chicago's Goodman Theatre in April. The festival itself will be presented from March 4th through April 23rd, 2006.

Joining the previously-announced John Mahoney as the Judge will be
Christian Stolte, David Pasquesi, Matthew Krause, John LaGuardia and Steve Pickering, while Pam MacKinnon has been announced to direct.

The play, which will mark Mahoney's first appearance at the Goodman in 15 years, will run in repertory with a cycle of Mamet one-acts from April 1st through 23rd. Grouped thematically, the evening of one-acts will include Homecomings (consisting of The Duck Variations, The Disappearance of the Jews and Home), Daughters, Mothers and Sisters (Almost Done, Reunion, Dark Pony and Jolly); and Ghost Stories (The Shawl and No One Will Be Immune).

Also included in the David Mamet Festival will be
The Revenge of the Space Pandas or Binky Rudich and the Two-Speed Clock, a children's play; it will be performed on Saturday mornings from March 25th through April 22nd.

The versatile Mamet, a Chicago native, is best-known for writing plays where aggressive characters verbally battle each other through rapid-fire dialogue. His other works include The Old Neighborhood, Speed-the-Plow, Oleanna and Boston Marriage; Glengarry Glen Ross and American Buffalo were first seen at the Goodman Theatre before moving to Broadway. Mamet's film credits include directing and writing the screenplays of Spartan, Heist, State and Main and others.

Mahoney is a Tony Award-winner for his performance in The House of Blue Leaves. Famous to TV audiences for his role on TV's "Frasier," Mahoney is a theatre veteran who has acted at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre and at the Goodman in Mamet's adaptation of Uncle Vanya.
