MEL & EL: OUR TIME OF THE MONTH returns to Comix (353 W. 14th Street) on Thursday, July 1st at 7:30PM. Tickets are $10, cash, at the door. The perfect post-Pride/pre-4th activity, this month's show will feature brand new songs such as "Gay Boat" and "White Lady with a Black Baby" and special guest comedian Ophira Eisenberg. Created and performed by award-winning funny femmes Melanie Adelman and Ellie Dvorkin with composer Patrick Spencer Bodd, MEL & EL: OUR TIME OF THE MONTH is like a modern-day Laverne & Shirley full of dirty songs, delightful banter and devilish dish. Hailed as "outrageous" by The New York Times and "hilariously squirm inducing" by the Village Voice, MEL & EL features new material every single month along with special guests, phenomenal drink deals and a generous dose of the in-your-crotch comedy you've come to know and love.

MEL & EL have quickly become an NYC cult phenomenon. They enjoyed a year-long run of the critically acclaimed MEL & EL: THIS SHOW RHYMES, while their second show, MEL & EL: SHOW AND TELL premiered at Ars Nova to rave reviews. MEL & EL: GAY MARRIED headlined at Comix NYC and culminated in the pair being chosen as one of the Village Voice's Best of New York. They were awarded the Backstage Bistro Award for their song "Fagnet" as well as the Collaboration Award given by the NY Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts and Media.

COMIX opened in September 2006 and has quickly defined itself as the premier Comedy Club in New York City. Comix is Zagat's highest rated comedy venue and was dubbed "one of the top six clubs in the country" by the Hollywood Reporter. In addition to featuring the best of cutting edge alternative comedy with everything from improv and sketch comedy to music and variety programming, headlining acts have included The Flight of the Conchords, Sarah Silverman, RoseAnne Barr, Craig Ferguson, Kathy Griffin and many more.
