Created and performed by award-winning funny femmes Melanie Adelman and Ellie Dvorkin with composer Patrick Spencer Bodd, MEL & EL: OUR TIME OF THE MONTH is like a modern-day Laverne & Shirley full of dirty songs, delightful banter and devilish dish. MEL & EL have quickly become an NYC cult phenomenon. They enjoyed a year-long run of the critically acclaimed MEL & EL: THIS SHOW RHYMES, while their second show, MEL & EL: SHOW AND TELL premiered at Ars Nova to rave reviews. MEL & EL: GAY MARRIED headlined at Comix NYC and culminated in the pair being chosen as one of the Village Voice's Best of New York. They were awarded the Backstage Bistro Award for their song "Fagnet" as well as the Collaboration Award given by the NY Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts and Media.

COMIX opened in September 2006 and has quickly defined itself as the premier Comedy Club in New York City.
