Comix At Foxwoods has announced that Academy Award winner, Steven Wright, will grace the stage for one show only when he visits the Fox Theater at Foxwoods on Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets for this highly-anticipated show will be available for presale through Comix and Ticketmaster on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m., and regular tickets will go on sale Friday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets in advance for $30, $40 and $55.
Recently seen in a guest role on the hit FX series, "Louie," Mass. native Steven Wright first gained notoriety with a rare set of back-to-back appearances on "The Tonight Show" in 1982. He was honored as the first inductee into The Boston Comedy Hall of Fame in Dec. 2008, and received Grammy Nominations for his two CD's, "I Have A Pony" (1985) and "I Still Have A Pony" (2007).
An extremely versatile talent, Wright was honored with an Academy Award in 1989 for Best Short Film for "The Appointments of Dennis Jennings," in which he starred and co-wrote, and he wrote, directed and starred in the 1999 short film, "One Soldier," which was screened at numerous film festivals. He has been featured in many films including "Desperately Seeking Susan," "So I Married An Axe Murderer," and "Natural Born Killers," as well as lending his voice to "Reservoir Dogs." Steven has also starred in three hour-long comedy specials: "A Steven Wright Special" (HBO, 1985), "Wicker Chairs And Gravity" (HBO, 1990), and "When The Leaves Blow Away" (Comedy Central, 2006).
A regular guest with David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson, Steven continues touring the U.S., Canada and overseas.
