Comix Announces Janeane Garofalo, Wendy Liebman & More

Opened in September 2006 in Manhattan's booming Meatpacking District, Comix has quickly defined itself as the premier comedy club in New York City. Comix is Zagat's highest rated comedy venue, and was dubbed "one of the top six clubs in the country" by the Hollywood Reporter. Comix was also named the top headliner club in New York City by both GrandLife and Digital City.

BOBBY SLAYTON

Fresh off the success of his 1 hour standup special on Showtime "Born to be Bobby", this "Pitbull of Comedy" will take over Comix for a whole weekend!

Audiences around the country may recognize Bobby from his scene-stealing roles in movies such as Get Shorty, HBO's The Rat Pack, Bandits, and most recently Dreamgirls. He's been seen on dozens of television shows including The Tonight Show, Politically Incorrect, HBO's Mind of a Married Man, and his own stand-up special. His distinctive gravelly voice has often been heard on animated shows like Family Guy, and has made him popular on radio shows like Howard Stern and Kevin & Bean.

WENDY LIEBMAN

For years, Wendy Liebman has been known for her dark and uniquely timed style of stand-up comedy, with lines like "I really like to shop....lift". Her first TV appearance was on The Tonight Show in 1990, and since then, she has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight.Show with Jay Leno, Politically Incorrect, Dr Katz Professional Therapist, The Daily Show, and her own half hour special on HBO. Come and join us as we bask in the glow of Wendy.

Alt-comedy legends Janeane Garofalo and Marc Maron will split the bill and headline four shows.

Janeane Garofalo, one of the most respected female comics, is also an established actress. She has had major roles on 24, The West Wing, and The Larry Sanders Show, and too many memorable film roles to name, in movies like Reality Bites and The Cable Guy.

For over ten years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television. A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on HBO, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, and two Comedy Central Presents specials. Most recently, his podcast "WTF with Marc Maron" skyrocketed to #1 on the iTunes comedy charts.

As an added bonus, Thursday night's show will be taken over by Marc's WTF Podcast, and Marc will be interviewing both Janeane Garofalo and Greg Giraldo live from our stage!

Anjelah started out as a professional cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders, and moved into acting in shows like The Shield and Love Inc, all while honing her skills as a standup. After the success of "Nail Salon", Anjelah joined the cast of MADtv, and her character "Bon Qui Qui at King Burger" became her second viral video sensation before the show was canceled, earning her a 2008 ALMA Award nomination for "Outstanding Female Performance in a Comedy Television Series."

GREG GIRALDO

Greg is also well known from his stint as a regular panelist on Comedy Central's Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. In addition to his two half hour stand-up specials on Comedy Central, Greg also has performed on Late Show with David Letterman (CBS), and he has been a guest on Late Night with Conan O' Brien (NBC) a dozen times. His most recent album, Midlife Vices, was released in 2009 along with a new Comedy Central special, and was well-loved in the comedy world. Don't miss your chance to see this genius live!
