The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center presents one of the hottest young comedians working today: the hilarious Julie Goldman. A star of LOGO's The Big Gay Sketch Show, Goldman returns to the Center's Renberg Theatre tonight, January 25, at 8 p.m. Net proceeds will benefit the full range of the Center's free and low-cost programs and services.
The show includes brand new material, as well as some classics from the Goldman playbook. Hailed as a leader of the next generation of queer humor, Goldman has been called "a master of irreverent cultural criticism who will have you roaring so hard that you reach The Edge of tears and beyond ... She is an absolute Must See." (Provincetown Banner)
Goldman has three TV comedy specials under her belt, which viewers have seen on LOGO, Showtime and Comedy Central. She has appeared on Fox's Bones, RuPaul's Drag U and Happy Endings. Goldman currently can be seen on Bravo's new show, The People's Couch, with her creative partner, Brandy Howard.
You can catch Goldman and Howard on the wildly ridiculous web series In Your Box Office (www.inyourboxoffice.com) and also on their new shows with Tello Films, Gay Street Therapy and Roomies.
Goldman is a favorite at pride celebrations, women's festivals and Olivia Travel events, as well as a headlining standup performer all over the country.
An Evening With Julie Goldman (proceeds to benefit the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center) will be held at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Renberg Theatre (200-seat mid-size theatre), located at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Hollywood (one block east of Highland, just north of Santa Monica Blvd. Free parking) on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 8 p.m. $20 General Admission.
