The Peoples Improv Theater is proud to present comedians Daloni, Dimino and Dixon in Med School Drop Out at The PIT Underground Stage in New York City this Friday August 18th.
The PIT is an award winning comedy theater based in Manhattan dedicated to the development of original comedy. The PIT is known for its composition of three key elements: a theater that presents original comedic shows seven nights a week; a school that focuses on the craft of improvisation with an unparalleled professional writing program; and a corporate curriculum that offers team building, leadership, and business training.
The Peoples Improv Theater was founded in 2002 by SNL writer Ali Reza Farahnakian in a small blackbox theater located on W29th Street. After outgrowing its original home, The PIT moved to E24th Street opening up two more official theaters.
Performing Friday night August 18th will be Alexis Daloni, a New York City based comedian. Daloni credits herself with a multitude of both appearances and productions at The Triad Theater, The Stand, Eastville Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club. Besides stand up, Daloni is also a voice over artists and actress. She was featured in the film short Social Hit. Daloni's most recent production follows her journey from Med School to the entertainment business.
Mary Dimino is winner of Outstanding Female Comedian by MAC and is a Gracie Allen award winning actress. Mary Dimino earned the prestigious New York International Fringe Festival Overall Excellence Award for Outstanding Solo Show for her one woman play Scared Skinny, penned & performed by the comedian. Her book Scared Skinny No More, published by Sunbury Press, debuted #10 on their best seller list.
A familiar face on television, Mary Dimino's appearances include NBC's Today Show, FOX's Laughs, PBS, HBO's Chris Rock Show, VH-1's Best Week Ever, Comedy Central's Graham Norton Effect, NY-1, Sirius XM's Leiberman Live, American Movie Classics Interstitial Comedy, sketches on Late Shows with David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, SNL, the role of Polly on New York Undercover, and numerous national commercials. Currently Dimino can been seen in national network ads for Life Reimagined and Sheba. In theaters, Mary Dimino has played Connie the Maid of Honor in Tony & Tina's Wedding, Carmella in Surprise, and Vidalia in the off-Broadway hit My Big Gay Italian Funeral at St. Luke's Theater. Mary Dimino's latest one woman show, Big Dummy: Me & My Old Man runs regularly in Times Square and won a United Solo Award of Theatre Row. She is a regular member of the internationally touring stand-up comedy/improv troupe The Italian Chicks.
Pat Dixon is a renown comedian, podcaster and journalist. He is the creator and host of The NYC Crime Report, the only comedy podcast based entirely on crime and is apart of the Compound Media Network. Dixon's television credits include appearances on Comedy Central, VH-1's Best Week Ever, The Late Late Show, Gotham Comedy Live and TV Land's Best Night In.
As an actor, Pat Dixon has been seen in the short film "Muck," an official selection in the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
