Columbia Stages presents The Love Song of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a kaleidoscopic drama by Carson Kreitzer about the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, who, in the final moments of his life, struggles with a fury as old as the creation of Woman, exploring questions of conscience, faith, and the consequences of the never-ending pursuit of knowledge.
Directed by Sara Rademacher, a third-year MFA director at Columbia University's School of the Arts, produced by Joy Sarah Arab (first-year MFA producer at CU), The Love Song of J. Robert Oppenheimer will be presented at the Connelly Theater from April 20 - 23, 2016.
"This extraordinary piece of theatre has it all: love, war, poetry, science, death, humor and spectacle. Most of all, it speaks to a deeply human and universal insecurity," explains director Sara Rademacher. "In his last moments of life on earth, Oppenheimer questions the ways in which he was a part of changing the world. No matter how big or small the answer, I think we all have that wonder."
