"Amazing and inspiring" was what Richard Lloyd-guitarist for the groundbreaking NYC band Television-had to say about Colorway when they played together in October. The Northampton, Mass., rock trio had a busy 2016 opening for the likes of The Yardbirds, Foreigner, Ian Hunter, Delta Deep (feat. members of Def Leppard and STP) as well as being included in the Green River Festival in Greenfield, MA, alongside Margo Price, Oh Pep!, NRBQ, Shakey Graves, Dawes and many more over three days.
Band Leader and guitarist, F Alex Johnson (Drunk Stuntmen/The Young At Heart Chorus) assembled Colorway in late 2012 to give life to the new music he had been writing since getting clean and sober in 2008. The nearly 30 years of writing, recording and performing under Johnson's belt is evident in every song and in every show. He spent the last year revitalizing the band with a new rhythm section, learning and reworking all the material from Colorway's debut self-titled 2013 album as well as 2015's The Black Sky Sequined which Modern Rock Review called "One of the finest rock albums of 2015".
On Friday, December 2 Colorway will play at Arlene's Grocery (95 Stanton St) at 9pm. They will be showcasing some brand new material as well as playing tracks from their back catalog.
