Colin Firth to Return to the West End in BETRAYAL

According to the UK's Daily Mail, Oscar-winner Colin Firth is in talks to appear in the West End for the first time in more than a decade.

"The King's Speech" star is set for the lead role, opposite Kristin Scott Thomas in Harold Pinter's BETRAYAL this autumn.

The couple also co-starred in the 1996 box-office hit "The English Patient."

In BETRAYAL, their characters Jerry and Emma have an extra-marital affair.

‘Colin has wanted to go on stage for a long while,' says a source, according to the article. ‘He'll do Betrayal after he completes filming Gambit with Cameron Diaz and Alan Rickman.

In 1983, Firth starred as Guy Bennett the award-winning London stage production of Another Country. He later gained wide public attention in the 1990s for his portrayal of Mr. Darcy in the 1995 television adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. He subsequently achieved film stardom with the international box office success of Bridget Jones's Diary, Mamma Mia!, A Single Man, and The King's Speech.
