Los Angeles, CA. (August 27, 2015) Coagula Curatorial (Los Angeles) is pleased to present Sacrament, an exhibition of new works by Diane Silver. The exhibit runs from today, September 2 thru Sunday, October 4th. Additionally, Coagula Curatorial will host an Artist talk with Diane Silver, art critic Peter Frank and gallerist Mat Gleason on Sunday, September 6th from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

In Sacrament, the artist explores the seven sacraments of Catholicism: from Baptism, Confession, Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders and Extreme Unction. In these abstract paintings, scale and texture play a role in communicating the artist's relationship with her catholic upbringing. No matter that the artist is a lapsed Catholic, these contemplative works are a joy for viewers of faith or in search of pure aesthetics. By avoiding illustration and rendering, Diane Silver delivers an experiential representation of the endless search for connecting with the divine.

Los Angeles based artist, Diane Silver strives for purity by stripping conceptual forms to their essence. Her approach is to identify recurring themes in art and distill them using space, light and illusion. By utilizing binary code, a minimal palette and eliminating preciousness, the works are open and direct. Diane attended the MFA program at Art Center College of Design (Pasadena), her work has been presented at LACMA, and she recently showed her work at the Dallas Art Fair.

The opening reception will be part of historic Chung King Road's art galleries' new fall exhibits, and includes openings at Charlie James Gallery, Good Luck Gallery, and Gregorio Escalante Gallery.
