The York Theatre Company has announced complete casting for the season opener of the Winter 2013 Musicals in Mufti Series: Two By Two, with Book by Peter Stone, Lyrics by Martin Charnin and Music by the legendary Richard Rodgers, starring Broadway veterans Jason Alexander and Tovah Feldshuh.

Directed by Martin Charnin, with Music Direction by Christopher McGovern, the cast will feature Frank Calamaro, Natalie Cortez, Claybourne Elder, Ruthie Ann Miles, Elizabeth Stanley, and Josh Tower. The limited engagement will play 5 performances February 15 - 17, 2013. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

The legendary composer Richard Rodgers entered his seventh decade of writing for the theatre with Broadway's 1970 Two by Two starring Danny Kaye. The story of Noah and the Ark is a musical adaptation of Clifford Odets' play The Flowering Peach and is retold with Noah and his family characterized in modern Jewish vernacular. It seems that the building of the ark was only the first of Noah's many daunting challenges in a journey that wasn't always smooth sailing. By turns inspirational and hilarious, it's good fun from The Good Book and when the land has dried, man and beast alike are invited to go forth and prosper in a bright New World. Lyricist Martin Charnin directs this production with a revised book by Peter Stone and featuring one of Richard Rodgers' most touching--and least known--scores.

The performance schedule for each presentation is: Fridays at 8:00 p.m., *Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and *Sundays at 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. (*Audience discussions follow all matinee performances). Casting for other shows will be announced soon.

Tickets are priced at $39.50 and are available online at www.yorktheatre.org, by calling (212) 935-5820, or in person at the box office at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue), Monday through Friday (12-6 PM).

Mufti means: "in street clothes, without the trappings associated with the original full productions."
