Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series, a forum for public discussion between Lincoln Center Theater artists and interested theatergoers, begins its 2005-2006 season on Wednesday, September 21, at 6:00 pm with a pre-performance talk with Victoria Clark and Kelli O'Hara.

The two play mother and daughter Margaret and Clara Johnson in the show, which features
a book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel and direction by Bartlett Sher.

Platform Series events take place between the matinee and evening shows on Wednesdays, from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm, in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street).

Clark won the triple crown – the 2005 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Awards - as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance as the American mother who tries to thwart her daughter's romance with an Italian boy in The Light in the Piazza. Her many Broadway appearances include Titanic, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Urinetown, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, and Sunday in the Park

O'Hara received Tony and Outer Critics Circle nominations for her performance as Clara, the daughter who blossoms when she finds her true love while on vacation in Italy. She has appeared on Broadway in The Sweet Smell of Success, Dracula the Musical, Follies, and Jekyll & Hyde.

The Light in the Piazza won six 2005 Tony Awards--Best Score, Best Actress, Best Orchestrations and three design awards (the show features costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Christopher Akerlind and sets by Michael Yeargan). Based on the novella by Elizabeth Spencer, Piazza opened at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre (150 W. 65th St.) on April 18th. The show currently stars Clark, O'Hara, Aaron Lazar, Chris Sarandon, Patti Cohenour and Sarah Uriarte-Berry.

Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series was introduced in the summer of 1998. Transcripts of the previous talks are available on-line at
www.lct.org.

Admission is free and open to all; however, seating in the lobby is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis only, beginning at 5:30 pm. (Speakers and schedules are subject to change. Call 212-362-7600 to confirm on the day of the event.).
