Clark and Butz to Present First 10 Tonys Online, 6/11

Before the 60th Annual Tony Awards are telecast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS from 8 PM to 11 PM on June 11th, Victoria Clark and Norbert Leo Butz will present the first ten Tony Awards in an exclusive webcast on www.TonyAwards.com beginning at 7:15 PM.

Clark (The Light in the Piazza) and Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) respectively won the Tony Awards for Best Actress and Best Actor in a Musical last year. They will present awards in the following categories: Best Orchestrations, Best Lighting Design of a Play, Best Lighting Design of a Musical, Best Costume Design of a Play, Best Costume Design of a Musical, Best Scenic Design of a Play, and Best Scenic Design of a Musical.

In addition, they will present the Regional Theatre Tony Award to the Intiman Theatre of Seattle, the Special Tony Award to Sarah Jones (for Bridge & Tunnel), as well as the Lifetime Achievement Tony Award. Harold Prince, who is working on Phantom--The Las Vegas Spectacular, will not be present to accept the honor.

In addition, the Tony website will air red carpet footage, courtesty of NY1 News.

This year, The American Theatre Wing's Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards will be celebrating their 60th Anniversary. The 2006 Tony Awards are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.

This year, the duty of hosting the Tony Awards will be shared. The 60th Anniversary show is bigger than just one host," said executive producers Weiss and Kirshner previously. "So we've put together a line-up of 60 stars from the stage to lead our celebration."

The Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS, Sunday, June 11th, 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay).

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Jed Bernstein is President. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer. Kirshner and Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2006 Tony Awards. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2006 Tony Awards.
