Citizens for Access to the Arts and NYC Arts Organizations Oppose Time Warner's Decision to Drop OVATION

Citizens for Access to the Arts is calling for a press conference tomorrow, Wednesday, December 19th to announce their opposition to Time Warner Cable, Inc.'s decision to drop the only cable network focused on the arts, Ovation.

Ovation, the 4th fastest growing cable network, showcases a broad range of arts programming such as dance, theater, art, film and music. Arts organizations throughout the metro area and local elected officials who are in opposition to Time Warner Cable's decision are joining forces to voice their opposition and show support for Ovation

The press conference will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at noon on the City Hall Steps. Dignitaries: Senator Eric Adams, Senator John Sampson, Assembly Member Phillip Goldfeder, Council Member Robert Jackson, Council Member James Van Bramer, Council Member Leticia James, Council Member Gale Brewer and Councilwoman Darlene Mealy.

Citizens for Access to the Arts is a coalition of organizations and individuals committed to the idea that everyone deserves access to the arts. The coalition support increased funding for arts education in schools, increased support for public arts institutions and expanded distribution of arts content through mass media channels, including cable television.
