THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE is the third and final play in this season's Three Plays for Grades K-6 series, the popular program that began in in 1994. This year's series is dedicated to the memory of Theodore Mann (1924-2012), co-founder of the legendary Theatre and until last winter, artistic director of both Circle in the Square and its acclaimed Theatre School.

This year's previous productions were LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, adapted by Lani Brockman, with music and lyrics by Susan Bardsley, and CINDERELLA: The Oldest Story Ever Told, written by David F. Eliet, which features interwoven Cinderella tales from China, India and Africa.

Circle in the Square Theatre School, established in 1961, is one of the country's premier schools of professional training for actors and singers, and is the only conservatory in a Broadway theatre. Paul Libin is President, and E. Colin O'Leary is Executive Director. Among the School's alumni are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Bacon, Lady Gaga, Idina Menzel, Nicole Ari Parker, Benicio Del Toro, Felicity Huffman, Molly Shannon, Matthew Lillard, Justin Kirk and many other luminaries of the stage and screen.

In addition to school and public performances of children's plays, the School also conducts a playwriting residency for 125 third graders at P.S. 11, with each student's short play performed by graduate actors on Circle's Broadway stage.
