The hit one-man play Christine Jorgensen Reveals
will reopen at the Studio Theatre on Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd St.) on
February 16th before playing engagements in Boston and Dublin.
The
show, which was conceived by and stars Bradford Louryk (Clytemnestra's Unmentionables, redbird), tells the story
of its title character--the first famous American transexual. Christine Jorgensen Reveals
recently closed at Dodgers Stages, but will now run through April 1st
at the Studio Theatre. It will then head to the Boston Center for the
Performing Arts in Boston, MA from April 6th through 29th before
playing the Dublin Gay Theatre Festival from May 8th through 13th."My
only answer is that I am more of a woman than a man." George Jorgensen
always knew he was different. In 1952, he traveled from New York to
Denmark to undergo a sex change operation. When he returned as
Christine, she was the subject of curiosity and controversy, and became
the most famous woman in America...In Christine Jorgensen Reveals,
Bradford Louryk brings his lipsynched recreation of America's first
famous transsexual's only recorded interview to life. The result is a
disarming and enlightening new play about personhood and the nature of
humanity in which Ms. Jorgensen – displaying extraordinary intellect,
charisma, poise, and grace – speaks candidly about her sensational
life," according to press notes.

production utilizes the original recording, which has been digitally
