In addition to the release, Green will also headline the official album release-party being presented by Mitchell Walker and AKA Studio Productions on Sunday, June 19 at 7pm at The Lively.
Due to the recent unspeakable tragedy in Orlando, Alexa will donate all proceeds from this event to Orlando Relief. "I've performed at places just like Pulse throughout my career. It could truly happen anywhere; I want to do everything I can to help."
Joining Alexa for the event are, BAILEN the Band, as well as Broadway veterans Christine Dwyer (WICKED) Amber Iman (SOUL DOCTOR, SHUFFLE ALONG) and Marcus Paul James (RENT, IN THE HEIGHTS). Backing up Green will be Chris Weaver, Jill Vanderoef, and Blaine Krauss (LION KING, RADIO CITY SPRING SPECTACULAR.) Broadway's James Sampliner will also join Alexa on stage for a new arrangement to a Broadway classic.
In an exclusive interview with MacWire, Green stated, "I've always been a singer and musician. Telling stories through song has been my passion since I can remember. When I was seven years old I played Molly in a summer-camp production of ANNIE. I remember that feeling I had after I sang 'You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile' as though it was yesterday. I dreamed of my Tony award shining 'like the top of the Chrysler Building'. After focusing on theatre throughout high school, I was accepted to the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. Shortly after graduation, I got the call that I would be joining the Los Angeles company of WICKED covering the lead role of Glinda. I was in WICKED for almost two years. Singing that score every night and every so often getting to hold Elphaba's hand were some of my favorite moments. I was living and breathing that story of love and friendship. My life was changing!"
Green says of her debut album So Good: "This album is my heart and soul, the fulfillment of a lifetime dream. Over the past 18 months, I've collaborated with such amazing artists, musicians, engineers and producers to create a tasteful and timeless blend of pop styling rooted in musical theatre. The album uniquely navigates its way through the American Songbook essentially outlining what inspires me to sing."
