Christina Sajous Will Take Over as 'Sandy Cheeks' in SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS Later This Month

BroadwayWorld has just learned that SpongeBob SquarePants will get a new furry friend before the show takes its final Broadway bow.

Christina Sajous will take over the role of 'Sandy Cheeks' on July 24. Lilli Cooper will depart the show on July 22.

Sajous has extensive Broadway, Off-Broadway, Tour and Regional credits including American Idiot, Spider Man, Baby, It's You!, Holler, If You Hear Me, Forever Dusty, Anna Nicole - The Opera (BAM), Carmen (Tectonic Theatre Project), Disgraced, The 12 (Denver Center), The Who's Tommy (Arkansas Rep), The Prince of Egypt (TheatreWorks).

SpongeBob SquarePants was named Best Musical by the Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle and earned 12 Tony Award nominations - the most nominated musical of the 2017-2018 theatre season - winning for Best Scenic Design of a Musical (David Zinn).
