A host of Broadway performers will be special guests at the first annual CAROLING WITH THE QUEENZ, a benefit for Novo Novus Productions, the new media company whose projects include Drama Queenz, the hit theatre-based comedy web series now in its third season. Complete with open bar, raffle, video premieres and karaoke, the event will take place Sunday, December 11 at 6pm in the Time Out New York Lounge at New World Stages.
Benefit attendees can share a smile and a laugh with special guests from Broadway stages and popular LGBTQ media, as well as choose to belt their hearts out to a classic “soul” Christmas ditty or their favorite Karaoke anthem (the audience’s favorite will win a special prize). In addition, the world premiere of the newest Drama Queenz episode and a raffle for prizes including Broadway tickets, salon packages, and more highlight this festive holiday get-together.
Performers helping bring holiday cheer to this lively event include Brenda Braxton (Chicago, Smokey Joe’s Café), Tallia Brinson (Dreamgirls nat’l tour), John Edwards (Jersey Boys), Wendy Fox (We Will Rock You), Ramona Keller (Brooklyn, Caroline, or Change), Kimberley Marable (Sister Act), Christina Sajous (Spider-Man…, American Idiot, Baby It’s You), Christian Dante White (The Scottsboro Boys), and Danyellle Williamson (Memphis).
“We’re extremely excited to have such talented, fun people help us celebrate the holidays and lend their support for our mission,” says Novo Novus co-Executive Producer Kristen-Alexzander Griffith. “We would like to keep having an impact and keep our product free and easily accessible for years to come; this benefit will help make that dream a reality.”
Established in 2008, Novo Novus Productions creates dynamic “diverse” works through various mediums in order to inflict a positive change in society, becoming a catalyst for new thought in a world ripe with endless possibilities. Projects include the hit comedy web series DRAMA QUEENZ, named one of the top gay web series by Web Entertainment Guide and an official selection in film festivals and pride events across the country; the short films WHERE TRUTH LIES & BOYS LIKE YOU (winner “Best Male Short,” North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival); and the docu-series FADE IN about the plight of homeless gay youth in NYC.
Official event co-sponsors include chic gentleman’s salon B. Braxton (www.bbraxton.com), and luxury travel agency ZenBiz Travel (www.zenbiztravel.com).
