Nice'n Easy announced Christina Hendricks as its Brand Ambassador in January. Now, for the first time since her teens, she has shifted away from her trademark red locks to find her true color and reveals a new side of herself as a golden blonde. Shifting a shade allows you to still feel and look like the most amazing you, and now it's time for Christina to see if blondes really do have more fun!
"I love this golden blonde. I'm really loving it! I was born blonde, so I wanted to rediscover that - a color that was true to me," says Christina.
Next month sees the premiere of the final season of Mad Men air, and is the last time Christina will play her much-loved, fiery red-headed character Joan, so her hair color shade shift couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Ever since making her initial shift early in her career and throughout all seven seasons of Mad Men, red has been her iconic shade - until now...
Changing hair color and shifting to a new shade expresses the personal and emotional end of Mad Men, and helps to encourage new beginnings for Christina. With new projects on the horizon, the time had come to shift away from Joan with the excitement to become a leading lady in another role. Change can be daunting, but with Nice'n Easy, changing your hair color doesn't have to be, when you know the color will always be natural-looking and true to you.
"I know that a hair color change can be emotional. Some people remember certain times in their life by the people they were with at the time, someone they were dating, or their job, whereas I often relate memories to what color my hair was at the time. My high school job was working in a salon as a shampoo girl, so I was used to seeing people transform themselves with their hair, which is why it has always been significant to me. I can't wait to help give women the confidence to shift a shade and still look and feel like their most amazing selves."
Christina continues, "Shifting a few hair shades does signify a new chapter in my life. I was excited to change my color. I've been the same shade of red for many, many years but I grew up blonde, so there are definitely both colors within me. My new Nice'n Easy golden blonde is perfect and I love looking back at a blonde in the mirror."
Clairol Color Director James Corbett says, "If the world's most iconic redhead can shift a shade and find an amazing new color, then other women can, too. And even a small change in hue can make a big difference, to how you look and also to how you feel. Nice'n Easy makes that true-to-you color easy to find, with 45 shades that each deliver natural-looking tones and highlights."
The Nice'n Easy Shift a Shade advertising campaign featuring Christina's new blonde hair shade will air April 2015.
