Sweet Charity stars Christina Applegate and Denis O'Hare, joined by co-stars Janine LaManna, Kyra Da Costa, Paul Schoeffler and Rhett George, will autograph copies of the hit show's new Broadway cast recording at 5PM Thursday, July 14 at FYE at Rockefeller Center (51st St and 6th Avenue).

The brand new recording of Sweet Charity is available on DRG Records and is in stores now. In addition to 18 tracks encompassing all the songs in the beloved score - including "Good Impression," a Coleman/Fields tune interpolated to this production - the recording includes some fascinating bonus tracks: five songs from the score recorded by one or both of the songwriters, four of which have never been released.

The highlight of this batch, however, is a brand new Cy Coleman discovery. In preparation for this production, Cy sang for the creative team a previously unused verse to "Where Am I Going?" for which he had written music and lyrics. Since he did not provide a written form of the melody of that verse at the time, and due to his untimely death shortly thereafter, it took the efforts of the Cy Coleman office to search through his archives to find the music that would match the lyrics. That verse, previously unrecorded, is sung by Christina Applegate as a sort of encore to the Sweet Charity score.

The new recording is produced by Hugh Fordin and recorded, mixed & edited by Cynthia Daniels.

With book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and based on an original screenplay by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinelli and Ennio Flaiano, Sweet Charity is a funny, poignant and tender look at the misadventures of Charity Hope Valentine (Applegate), a dance-hall hostess who always gives her heart (and her earnings) to the wrong man. The production is directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago), choreographed by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (The Who's Tommy,Wicked) and is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler and Clear Channel Entertainment in association with Edwin W. Schloss.

Sweet Charity's new orchestrations are by Don Sebesky. Don York is music director. Additional music and vocal arrangements are by Michael Rafter. Additional dance arrangements are by Jim Abbott. Music coordinator is John Miller.

Sweet Charity is performed at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W 45th St). For tickets and information, call (212) 239-6200 or visit Telecharge.com.
