Laurie Oestreicher and LLL Magic have announced two developmental lab performances of the new musical, The Next Big Thing, with book and lyrics by J. Laurence Lowenstein, music by Gerald H. Bailey (Courting), and directed by Jim Ortlieb (Broadway's recent Of Mice and Men and Guys and Dolls). The Next Big Thing is an intimate and incisive musical about one young actor's treacherous road to Hollywood stardom.

The Next Big Thing will feature Tony Award nominee Christiane Noll (Ragtime), Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia), Stephanie Rothenberg (How To Succeed...), David Perlman (Yank!), Steve Rosen (Peter and the Starcatcher), Timothy Warmen (Jesus Christ Superstar), and Mark Zimmerman (On the Twentieth Century).

In The Next Big Thing, Scott, an aspiring actor, faces hardships and setbacks on the road to eventual wild success in Hollywood, only to discover a whole new set of burdens and struggles that come along with his newfound celebrity status. With a cast of characters that includes industry-savvy agents, a hotshot producer-director, Scott's bumbling best friend, a sophisticated female agent, and a young actress, The Next Big Thing is an intimate seven-character musical that offers a fresh look at the way the entertainment world works, and the steep price for success in that world.

The Next Big Thing features choreography by Ryan Kasprzak (NBC's "Smash", Billy Elliot National Tour), musical direction by Jeff Klitz (Guys and Dolls, Hot Feet), and lighting design by Benjamin Weill (A Chorus Line and Spamalot at Surflight Theatre).

Industry seats for performances of The Next Big Thing may be arranged by calling Judith Drasner at 212-589-5440 or emailing evanbernardin@aol.com at Leonard Soloway Productions.
