Chicago, featuring rock and roll superstar Huey Lewis, is presented as a special attraction of the San Francisco 2005-2006 Best of Broadway season, to play the Golden Gate Theatre October 24 through November 5.  Chicago is brought to you by Citibank, under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays.

This hugely successful Broadway hit musical spawned an Academy Award winning film, won 6 Tony Awards (including Best Musical Revival) and a Grammy Award for its cast recording. Its story of two real life murderesses and a lawyer who turns them into media celebrities is a page right out of today's newspapers. The jazz, the style, the music, and the dancing all add up to an experience that will exhilarate.

Chicago features the "razzle-dazzle" music and lyrics of master Broadway multi-award winning composers John Kander and Fred Ebb, with book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. The show also features the Tony Award-winning direction of Walter Bobbie and the Tony Award winning choreography by Ann Reinking in the style of the legendary Bob Fosse and re-created by Gary Chryst.

Performances will be Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:00PM; Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00PM.  Sunday, October 27 at 7:30PM and Wednesday, November 1 at 2:00PM.  The Golden Gate Theatre is located at 1 Taylor Street at 6th and Market.

Tickets for Chicago will range in price from $25 to $85 and will go on sale to the general public in August.  Information and single tickets will be available at www.shnsf.com or by calling 415-512-7770.  To get tickets or information for groups of 20 or more, please call 415-551-2020.
