Cheyenne Jackson has been announced to star in the final two installments of Douglas Carter Beane's The Cartells, A Prime Time Soap...Live, presented by the Drama Dept.
"In the tradition of 'Dallas,' 'Dynasty' and 'The Colbys,' Drama Dept. turns the talents of its acclaimed theatrical company to the world of prime time soaps with Douglas Carter Beane's The Cartells," state press materials. Directed by Carl Andress, The Cartells is a live, four-part, weekly stage series which premiered Monday, October 16, 2006 at Comix (353 W. 14th St.) in New York's Meatpacking District.
According to the star's website, he will play "a brand new character with some explosive secrets."
Jackson's Broadway credits include All Shook Up, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Aida. He was among the premiere cast of Altar Boyz, is a member of the Broadway Inspirational Voices, and has appeared regionally in West Side Story, The Most Happy Fella, Children of Eden, Hair, Carousel, Damn Yankees and Kismet. He was recently seen in a featured role in the film United 93, and also starred in the short film Curiosity.
Starring Vanessa Aspillaga, Elizabeth Berkley, Keith Davis, Joanna Gleason, Jason Butler Harner, Peter Frechette, Peter Hermann, Cady Huffman, Brian D'Arcy James, Pedro Pascal, David Rakoff, Kristen Schaal, and Joey Slotnick, The Cartells is "about a wealthy oil family having too much fun in an Aaron Spelling kind of way," state press materials.
