Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) will present its second annual week-long education program, CHERRY LANE SCHOOL - featuring panel discussions and workshop sessions with leading figures in the professional theatre - from October 24 to 28 at Cherry Lane Theatre.
Featured on the roster for CLT SCHOOL '16 will be a conversation with the legendary producer Elizabeth McCann, joined by the theatre veteran producer and manager Julie Crosby; a panel of former and upcoming mentors from Cherry Lane's celebrated Mentor Project (Stephen Adly Guirgis, Rajiv Joseph and Lucy Thurber, moderated by Anton Dudley); classes with playwrights Matt Williams and Tina Howe; sessions with actresses Angelina Fiordellisi and Tonya Pinkins, theatrical publicist Sam Rudy, and casting director Howard Cherpakov.
Cherry Lane's Founding Artistic Director Angelina Fiordellisi notes that Cherry Lane School 2016 is dedicated to the memory of the late playwright Edward Albee, many of whose seminal works were presented at Cherry Lane Theatre dating back to the 50's and 60's, and who was himself committed to supporting young, emerging playwrights.
CLT SCHOOL '16 follows the inaugural launch of Cherry Lane's education initiative last year, a resounding success with many programs sold-out, according to the theater's Founding Artistic Director, Angelina Fiordellisi.
Admission to individual CLT SCHOOL '16 sessions are $30 for the first session, with additional sessions priced at $20. (PLEASE NOTE, THE OCT. 25 MENTOR PROJECT session is open FREE to the public.) For reservations and information visit the Cherry Lane website: www.cherrylanetheatre.org

Scott Fitzgerald to Gertrude Stein, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee and Harold Pinter. Under the artistic leadership of Angelina Fiordellisi since 1996, Cherry Lane remains devoted to developing and producing new works for the stage through its various programs including the award-winning Mentor Project, which each year pairs established playwrights with emerging writers for a season of dramaturgy, rehearsal, casting and production. Mentor Project recently concluded its 18th season with mentors Rajiv Joseph, Katori Hall and Sheila Callaghan, marking the first time in the program's history that formerly mentored playwrights return to Cherry Lane as mentors to other playwrights.
Angelina Fiordellisi is Founding Artistic Director of Cherry Lane Theatre; Seri Lawrence and Janio Marrero are Co-Producers of Cherry Lane School 2016 and Mentor Project; Diane Alianiello is General Manager.
