According to Cinematical.com, Kristin Chenoweth's next big role may be Dolly - as in the one-time Queen of the Grand Ole Opry, not of Harmonia Gardens.

Country star and songwriter Dolly Parton has reportedly approved the casting of Chenoweth - whose Hollywood profile has grown considerably in the last few months with such films as Deck the Halls and Running with Scissors - in an upcoming biopic.  No official casting has been announced.

Chenoweth, who was nominated for a Tony for her performance as Glinda in Wicked and who won for her Sally Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, will next appear onstage in the Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming revival of The Apple Tree.

She has also been seen in Scapin, A New Brain, Steel Pier, Epic Proportions, in the Lincoln Center concert production of Candide, and the Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and The Apple Tree. "As I Am" and "Let Yourself Go" are her two solo CDs. She also played Annabeth Schott on TV's "The West Wing."  Other film credits include R.V., Bewitched, and The Pink Panther.

Parton is a multi-Grammy Award winner whose songs include "Here You Come Again" and "I Will Always Love You." As a screen actress, she has appeared in 9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone, Steel Magnolias and Straight Talk; she has also contributed songs to such films as Norma Rae, Rhinestone and Pink Cadillac. "Travelin' Thru," which she wrote for Transamerica, was nominated for an Academy Award.  She is currently helping to adapt 9 to 5 into a Broadway musical.
