It was a busy New York City Wine & Food Festival for Chef Todd English as he made the rounds of the annual event this weekend. The festival, which ran from October 17-20, saw English take part in a charity ride benefiting the Food Bank of New York at Flywheel Flatiron, hosting Global Night Market at his Todd English Foodhall at The Plaza Hotel and attending an oyster, beer and bubbly bash at the Biergarten at The Standard, New York.

Saturday's charity ride at Flywheel Flatiron reunitEd English with fellow chef Josh Capon of Lure Fishbar for the second time after both took part in a similar ride during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in February. The two kitchen stars were joined by riding enthusiasts and instructors in helping to raise funds for the Food Bank of New York.

Saturday evening, English was back in form hosting a late-night tasting that featured tantalizing samplings from a melting pot of vendors from around the world. Taking place at the Todd English Food Hall at The Plaza Hotel, Global Night Market allowed attendees to indulge in a culinary journey through the food hall's European-inspired specialties.

On Sunday, The Lobster Place brought its best and brightest oyster purveyors to the Biergarten at The Standard, New York. English and his Olives New York chef team joined host, restaurateur John Besh, at the mid-day event which featured artisan oyster farmers serving fresh delicacies, oyster-shucking lessons at the "Shuck and Shoot" station and dishes from some of New York's most renowned seafood chefs as they offered their take on their favorite oyster preparations.

"This was such an incredible year for the New York City Wine & Food Festival," say English. "I am just so grateful to have been able to participate in so many exciting events and so thankful to everyone who helped make it such an unforgettable weekend. I've had a fantastic time and as always I'm looking forward to coming back and doing it all again next year!"

This week, English will take part in the Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas for the Take A Stand Charity Dinner on Oct 25th hosted by Elizabeth Blau and Hubert Keller. The dinner is a collaboration of six chefs and six courses with English preparing the Pasta Course - Roasted Blue Hubbard Anglotti, Burrata Fondue with ShavEd White Truffles. On the 26th is the Chefs on Stage Live Cooking Demo where English will prepare and demo an "ugly" fish bouillabaisse for a live audience.
