A BRONX TALE playwright and star Chazz Palminteri will lead a staged reading of Ben Andron's new play BREAKING BOBBY STONE, directed by Peter Scolari, today, February 10 at 3:30 p.m. at the Snapple Theater Center.
The play is reportedly eyeing a Broadway run next season; no official announcement has been made.
Scolari told Deadline the work is "a very funny play with heart and soul -- I wish I'd written it, but I did not, which is a very good thing."
BREAKING BOBBY STONE follows "the reclusive Stone and a young reporter who'll do whatever it takes to get an exclusive interview."
Palminteri joins Donna English, Bryan Fenkart, Robin de Jesus, Anthony Rapp, Sam Seder and Keala Settle in the cast for the reading.
Palminteri recently voiced a role in the animated film Henry & Me and has appeared on TV in Rizzoli & Isles, Modern Family and more. His upcoming big screen projects include Legend and The Stone Pony. Among his past film credits are The Usual Suspects and an Oscar-nominated turn in Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway.
