Cause Célèbre (Susan Charlotte, Founder), is a theatre company dedicated to fostering an enhanced understanding of psychological, physical and social issues. Each month a different issue will be the focal point, and the proceeds will benefit a specific charity.

The next event is entitled "Recipe For Life" benefiting The Honorable Tina Brozman Foundation at The Acorn Theatre beginning February 14th at 7pm. Performances will continue every week, February 21st at 2pm, February 28th at 2pm and 7pm, and March 7th at 2pm.The fourth installment of Cause Célèbre will feature appearances by Kathleen Chalfant, Tandy Cronyn, Jake Robards, Marian Seldes, Miriam Silverman, Maria Tucci, and Harris Yulin performing a series of readings, performances and original works by Susan Charlotte, Margaret Edson, A.R. Gurney and Neil Simon. The evening will be directed by Antony Marsellis and Christopher Hart.

The Honorable Tina Brozman Foundation (known as "Tina's Wish") is named for Tina Brozman, an amazing woman who became a judge at 32 years old. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at age 52 and died at age 54, one year ago. Her husband, Andrew Brozman, started the foundation in her name.

It is well known among her family and colleagues that Tina was a sophisticated and generous cook. When she was diagnosed she began writing a cookbook for her children, hence the title, "Recipe For Life". This Cause Célèbre will be related to the battle against ovarian cancer. However, the plays will be related to food and restaurants which are thought provocative and lighter fare. They include A.R. Gurney's The Dining Room, Neil Simon in the collaboration of Tallulah Finds Her Kitchen, and an original work by Susan Charlotte entitled, The Laziest of Simmers which was inspired by Tina. An excerpt from the Pulitzer Prize winning play WIT by Margaret Edson will also be presented. Throughout the evening letters written to Tina's family after she died will be read by the actors, highlighting her life, her family and the importance of this foundation.

Other upcoming presentations will be devoted to and benefit such diverse causes and organizations as Heartshare's Frances Aiello's (Danny's mother) Day Treatment Center in Bedford Stuyvesant.; an evening to benefit the Museum of the History of Polish Jews located in what had been the ghettos of Warsaw; a Tribute to Kitty Carlisle Hart benefiting the Glaucoma Foundation; and additional causes such as pancreatic cancer, brain tumors and cerebral palsy among others.

Tickets are $100 with proceeds going to the evening's charity. Additional donations directly to the charity and/or Cause Célèbre are also welcome.

Tickets and donations are tax-deductible.
