Every year, The DREAM Project calls for New York City philanthropists, celebrities and Latino leaders to celebrate their annual benefit which supports free quality education for children in the Dominican Republic.
This year, the event took place at the distingushed Italian Academy at Columbia University and united voices from different industries in the city to make a change in the lives of thousands of children.
The Dominican Republic Education and Mentoring (DREAM) Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that focuses on early childhood education, high quality primary education, holistic youth development, and arts, culture and community enrichment.
Their groundwork was laid in 1995 when a group of Dartmouth students came down for a semester to volunteer in public schools in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Today, DREAM helps more than 8,000 youth receive a better education in 27 different communities.
