Casting, Complete Show Schedules Announced for Clubbed Thumb's SUMMERWORKS 2014

Casting has been announced and a complete schedule is set for SUMMERWORKS 2014 - the annual season of new plays presented by the four-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb -- it has been announced by Maria Striar, Clubbed Thumb's Producing Artistic Director. SUMMERWORKS 2014 will be presented May 30 to July 5 at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd St.) in Manhattan. Single tickets are now on sale for $18, students tickets are $15 and festival passes are $45. SUMMERWORKS 2014 will feature productions of three new plays: 41-DERFUL written and directed by Jenny Schwartz; I'M PRETTY FUCKED UP by Ariel Stess, directed by Kip Fagan, and 16 WORDS OR LESS by Peggy Stafford, directed by Portia Krieger.

Featured in the cast of 41-DERFUL are Paul Thureen (of The Debate Society), Annie McNamara (GATZ, BLUE JASMINE, Clubbed Thumb affiliated artist), Nathan Lee Graham (PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT, ZOOLANDER) and child actor Griffin Frey, in his first stage role.

The cast of I'M PRETTY FUCKED UP includes Danny Wolohan (AN OCTOROON, Clubbed Thumb's BABY SCREAMS MIRACLE), Colleen Werthmann (MR. BURNS, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON), Ana Nogueira (IN THE HEIGHTS National Tour, THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW), Seth Clayton (MTC's THE MADRID), Alexander Flores (THE MAZE RUNNER), Bonnie White (The Flea's MARY-KATE OLSEN IS IN LOVE), Lauren Annunziata (NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT, Joe's Pub), and Ben Hollandsworth (13P's MONSTROSITY). More casting will be announced soon.

The cast of 16 WORDS OR LESS features Crystal Finn (Clubbed Thumb's LUTHER and LA BREA), Neal Huff (TAKE ME OUT, THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED, THE WIRE), Clayton Dean Smith (Lisa Kron's THE VERI**ON PLAY) and Jessica Rothe (DREAM OF THE BURNING BOY, Roundabout). More casting will be announced soon.

SUMMERWORKS 2014 will also feature a site-specific kick-off event created by Clubbed Thumb's Early Career Writers' Group and directed by Margot Bordelon on Tuesday, May 27 at 7 pm. Free readings of plays by members of the group will also be presented, a full schedule can be found on Clubbed Thumb's website.
