Casting has been announced for MEMORIES OF THE GAME at the SheNYC Summer Theater Festival. The new play by Kristy Thomas will run at the Connelly Theater this July.
Memories Of The Game revolves around an African American family in the fight of their lives. The father, Kenneth, is losing his grip as he's being overtaken by Alzheimer's disease. The son, Michael, fights a crack addiction. Karen works to keep her husband's mind present while also being pulled into the sadness of her son's situation. Their daughter Sharon tries to bring her brother back to the family despite her anger at his choices. If only Kenneth can hold on to his love of the game of football, maybe his family can hold on to each other.
This heart-wrenching new work will star Erich McMillan-McCall (Chicago, The Who's Tommy) as Kenneth, Jas Anderson (Mr. Robot) as Michael, Julia Breanetta Simpson as Karen, and Lawryn LaCroix as Sharon.
The production will be directed by Cate Cammarata (The Assignment), and designed and stage managed by Kim Marie Jones. For tickets and more information, please visit www.shenycarts.org.
