Casting Announced for Columbia Stages' As You Like It

Casting has been announced for As You Like It, directed by Pedro Salazar. The comedy by William Shakespeare will be presented by Columbia Stages January 24th to the 27th at the Theatre at Riverside Church. 

The cast for the Columbia Stages production will include: Camila Borrero, Ashton Crosby, Elizabeth Raetz, Billy Fenderson, Huling Foster, Steven Hauck, Melinda Helfrich, John Patrick Higgins, Tonya Jones, Nick Maccarone, Thomas Oldham, Alexis Savino, John William Schiffbauer, Rony Sheer, Scott Sweatt, Scott Witebsky, and Isaac Hirotsu Woofter. 
 
In addition to Salazar, the creative team includes Nick Vaughan (Scenic Designer), Tim Cryan (Lighting Designer), Zi Xie (Costume Designer), and Sebastian Cruz (Composer). 
 
According to press notes, "Sometimes life gets very rough: brothers fight…land is usurped…and the whole of society falls into a lack of trust from which we can only escape. We all travel far away to redeem what was lost; to the forest where everyone is equal. But nature is equally rough: there is time to spend…there are songs to be sung…there is the hope of love. Two brothers meet two sisters. A girl dressed as a boy turns a boy into a man. As You Like It asks, are we ready to return?" 

Columbia Stages is the producing arm of the Oscar Hammerstein II Center for TheatreColumbia Studies of Columbia University's School of the Arts. Columbia Stages presents a season of graduate actor and director productions as well as an annual festival of new plays by emerging playwrights.
