CastAndLoose, The New Ohio Theatre, & Project Am I Right present "CastAndLoose Live! Not So Buenos Aires," featuring Annie Henk, LIZA COLÓN-ZAYAS, Lynne Marie Rosenberg, Lauren Villegas, and more to be announced, at The New Ohio Theatre on October 9, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Join CastAndLoose Live! as we take on all the pigeon-holes and stereotypes facing Latinx actors and characters in film, TV, and theater.

The topic of whitewashing in the media is a hot button issue, recently heightened by the controversy surrounding North Shore Music Theatre's casting of Evita. In order to engage this conversation with a night of laughs, groans, music, and advocacy, CastAndLoose, Project Am I Right, and The New Ohio Theatre have teamed up to present:

CastAndLoose Live! Not So Buenos Aires. Based on Lynne Marie Rosenberg's tumbr, CastAndLoose, CastAndLoose Live! features stars of stage and screen reading verbatim from Lynne's collection of offensive, real casting notices. This evening, we will additionally hear the world premiere of pieces written in response to these breakdowns, by playwrights from the Latinx community.

Some examples from the tumblr:

[ ELENA ] (40-60) Hispanic, Gorgeous, Overbearing, Controlling, Overprotective, Explosive Temper. Elena is just your typical "Firecracker Latina" with a big heart.

[ LATINO MAN ] Male, 50s, Hispanic. A chubby mechanic who can do authentic snoring.

[ GABRIELA ] ...Beautiful, Sexy, Busty. She is referred to as "Busty Gabriela." Spanish Accent a Plus.

Net proceeds from the evening's performance will go to United We Dream. Come laugh at the problem while funding the solution.

Written and hosted by Lynne Marie Rosenberg (High Maintenance), co-produced and featuring Lauren Villegas (Spamilton), directed by Jenn Haltman (Summertime), and featuring* LIZA COLÓN-ZAYAS (Mary Jane), Annie Henk (That's What She Said), and more to be announced!

Plus world premieres of original work by Liza Ann Acosta, Matt Barbot, Alex Beech, Hilary Bettis, Diana Burbano, Guadalís Del Carmen, Migdalia Cruz, Kristoffer Diaz, Christina Nieves, and Juan Villa!

*Cast subject to change.
