LAURA'S BUSH features Emmy Award-winning comedienne LAURA LEBLEU as Laura Bush, HILDA GUTTORMSEN as Dodie the librarian, and JANE AQUILINA as Desiree the dominatrix. Rounding out the cast are KRISTIN PRICE and ARTHUR LEWIS. The design team includes KARL A. RUCKDESCHEL (costumes), NICK KELSAKE (sets), and STEVE O'SHEA (lights).

"LAURA'S BUSH" follows an absurdly prudish librarian as she enlists the help of a small town dominatrix to free Laura Bush from "life" in the White House. Sexual and political hi-jinx ensue as they uncover a plot so evil and over-the-top that it just might be true. While Fahrenheit 911 raised eyebrows, this raunchy satire may raise other parts of the anatomy as well.

Playwright JANE MARTIN (Talking With…, Anton in Show Business, Keely and Du,
etc.) is a mysterious figure in American theater. This multiple award-winning writer has never been seen in public and there is much speculation as to her true identity. Whoever she may be, Martin has made Laura's Bush available royalty-free to small theatres throughout the nation, and considers "LAURA'S BUSH" to be "my form of campaign contribution".

Directing LAURA'S BUSH is JACK DANIEL STANLEY, producing artistic director of Live Theater, a company that has produced plays in Seattle, New York and New Orleans. Jack Daniel's work involves long-term collaborations with Mabou Mines and Southern Rep of New Orleans, where he is currently a resident artist. Critical praise of his work ranges from "a director who really impresses" (PBS), to "…an artist to watch." (Seattle Weekly)

Other companies involved include SACRED FOOLS THEATER COMPANY (Los Angeles), PERFORMANCE NETWORK (Ann Arbor) NOSUCH GROUP (Detroit), BRAVA! FOR WOMAN IN ARTS (San Francisco) WASHINGTON ENSEMBLE THEATRE (Seattle) and STRANGELAND PRODUCTIONS (Atlanta).  For more information on the nationwide premiere of "LAURA'S BUSH" please visit www.laurasbush.com.
