Cast and Creative Team Announced for ERROL AND FIDEL at New York Musical Festival

The cast and creative team for the New York premiere of the new Australian musical, Errol and Fidel, with book by Boyd Anderson and Guy Anderson, music by Peter Kaldor, John Kaldor and Doug Oberhamer, and lyrics by Boyd Anderson, has been announced. Errol and Fidel, an Official Selection of the 2017 New York Musical Festival, and the only international production chosen this year, will be directed by Michael Bello, with choreography by Justin Boccitto and music direction, arrangements & orchestrations by Doug Oberhamer. Errol and Fidel has the honor of opening the festival on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 7:00pm and will play a total of five performances at Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street).


Cuba, 1958: Revolution is in the air! In his final year, Errol Flynn is looking for one last adventure. The dashing infamous star of many Hollywood blockbusters yearns to be a real hero. Fidel Castro craves fame, and who better than Errol to show him the way? At the height of the revolution, the two men are drawn together by a mysterious woman. But who is really calling the shots? Errol, Fidel the mysterious woman, or just maybe, the CIA is really pulling all the strings. Fueled by lust, vanity and envy - who knew revolution could be so much fun.

Errol and Fidel will star Jonathan Stewart as Errol and George Psomas as Fidel with Alan M-L Wager, Sydia Cedeno, Ryan Bauer Walsh, Claire Saunders, Cole Grissom, Jon Cooper, Alex Drost, Kaitlyn Frank, Rashaan James Ii, Maiza Miller, and Alexandria Van Paris.


The creative team includes Starlet Jacobs (Scenic Designer), Heather Carey (Costume Designer), Isabella Byrd (Lighting Designer), and Shannon Slaton (Sound Designer).


Errol and Fidel will play the following performance schedule: Monday, July 10 at 7:00pm; Thursday, July 13 at 1:00pm and 5:00pm, Friday, July 14 at 5:00pm; and Sunday, July 16 at 9:00pm.
